53/1638) Home:  Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Solstice Stout by Great Lakes Brewery of Ontario:  **;  11.9%, 60 ibu;   nose is oak, bitter coffee, vanilla, leather;  tastes of oak, bourbon with a hint of vanilla;  very complex - a slow sipper well suited to the cold weather that just returned (after the skating rinks had shut down for the season);

The story is that this was brewed on vernal equinox, on summer solstice it was moved into fresh bourbon barrels and bottled on winter solstice.  I opened it today, spring equinox.  I have saved two bottles for aging to be opened on autumnal equinox and winter solstice.  I'm not the biggest fan of summer.
